Joseph Leiter

Joseph Leiter attended Horizon Academy from 2006-2009. Since leaving our school, he graduated from Emporia State University with a degree in Rehabilitation Services Education, and is now pursuing a masters at the same university in Rehab Counseling. He is putting his studies into action working at JobOne, a vocational services organization serving people with disabilities in Grandview. He has many roles there including employment specialist, career counselor, and job developer. He is also involved with the Independence Kiwanis and, recently, the Belton Chamber of Commerce. He fondly remembers talent shows, hour-long PE classes, and his many great teachers at Horizon Academy.

“While at Emporia State I served in many leadership roles such as vice president of external affairs for the Interfraternity Coucil, Kansas district Membership Growth and Development Chair for Circle K International Kansas district and student senator for Emporia State University Associated Student Government! Also, I was in a fraternity Signa Tau Gamma and was the Vice President of Public Relations! I received Most Outstanding Greek Man through the Interfraternity Council in 2017.”
