Mission/Vision

Horizon Academy’s theme for this year is “I Am Somebody!” “I am Somebody” carries historical importance originating as part of the US civil rights movement in the form of a poem in Atlanta, Georgia in 1943. This has inspired our own version as we challenge the stigma that often surrounds students with learning disabilities. Our focus will be on each student’s strengths and the characteristics that make each child unique. We respect and admire the students we work with and “I am somebody” symbolizes an approach of confidence and pride that reflects the students with whom we work.
