Summer Academic Program
Entering Grades 1 – 6, $3,350
June 5 – June 30, 2023 | 8:15 a.m. – 2:45 p.m.

Horizon Academy’s Summer Academic Program helps students entering first through sixth grades strengthen their reading, writing, and math skills while having fun. Guided by specially trained staff, Horizon Academy summer students engage as learners in small instructional groups with a focus on reading, written expression, and math. Instructional approaches include Orton-Gillingham, Multisensory Math, and learning strategies in written expression, comprehension, and study skills. The curriculum is adapted to meet the needs of each student to ensure that they experience school success. Students will become strategic learners as they develop time management, self-advocacy, and social skills.
In addition to academics, the following will be offered:
- Daily PE classes Monday through Thursday
- Weekly art, music, makerspace, and social and emotional learning (SEL) classes
- Friday afternoons will include water activities on campus.
- Limited before-school care is available upon request for a fee.
- A non-refundable deposit of $500 is due when your child is accepted to secure your spot in the program. The remaining balance is due by June 5th.
*Horizon Academy Summer Program will be implementing the guidelines provided by the CDC and the local health department to maintain a safe environment for our students, faculty and families.
