Summer School

Horizon Academy offers a variety of summer offerings for students with dyslexia and specific learning disabilities. Here is a brief overview of our summer programs for 2018:

 

  • June Full Day Program (June 4-29)- This program mirrors a regular school day at Horizon Academy. Students receive instruction in core content areas including reading instruction using the Orton-Gillingham approach and math using the Math-U-See approach. Students also have classes in PE, music and art and take weekly trips to the Fairway pool.
  • July Half Day Program (July 9-27)- This program provides academic support for students who need assistance in reading, writing, math and study skills.
  • Summer Tutoring (June 4-July 27)- Tutoring is available 2 or 3 days a week in the Orton-Gillingham approach or in math using the Math-U-See approach.
  • ABCs & 123s (June 4-29)- This program is for children ages 5-7 and promotes early literacy and numeracy skills.
