Exceptional Education
Who We Serve
From more common reading and articulation issues to executive dysfunction, we proudly educate children with a wide variety of dyslexia, dysgraphia, and/or dyscalculia diagnoses. Horizon Academy welcomes all interested families to reach out to our staff, but our dyslexia school requirements help determine if your child is a good fit for our services.

What We Look For
Your child may need academic support that after-school programs can’t provide. Instead of forcing a student into endless tutoring, which can impact their emotional and social well-being, we provide a full school year of education crafted to promote success.
Are We a Match for Your Child?

Dyslexic Foundation
As a school that supports children with language-based learning disabilities, a diagnosis is a requirement for all applicants.

Co-Occurring ADHD
While we do not diagnose ADHD with our testing, we do address executive dysfunction in our classrooms.

Specialized Resources
If your child has a primary emotional or behavioral diagnosis, we may recommend an institution that can better address their needs.

Inclusivity Culture
We want all our students to know that they belong, which is why we emphasize diversity and inclusion.

Understanding Admissions
Every student deserves a learning environment that actively encourages their strengths, which is why we have such a thorough screening process. Horizon Academy is a unique school that caters to children with primary diagnoses of dyslexia, dysgraphia, and/or dyscalculia, and we want to match your child with the best education possible.

Once we’ve had a virtual parent meeting and completed a screening with your child, our admissions team will decide whether our immersive programs would be a good fit for them based on the dyslexia school requirements. In the event that we are not the best fit, rest assured that we’ll do what we can to provide you with helpful resources for your child.
For students who are enrolled in the program, we provide them with an individualized learning plan that adjusts pacing and groupwork based on their strengths and challenges. We want to give children with language-based learning disabilities their time back, which is why we only recommend after-school supplemental programs if they’re truly needed.
