Who benefits from attending a Learning Disability Simulation?

Everyone can benefit from attending! Our Learning Disability Simulations are designed to help anyone age 14 and up better understand what it is like to live with a language-based learning disability. That includes parents, grandparents, siblings, educators, health professionals, tutors, and anyone else who loves someone with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and/or dyscalculia.

Can my Horizon Academy student and their siblings attend with me?

We created this event to help loved ones to understand what it is like be in a traditional classroom with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and/or dyscalculia. Our students don’t have to attend this event to experience this, they have lived it. While siblings aged 14 and older are welcome to attend, this event is not designed for children 13 and younger. One way to help them understand their siblings experience are children’s books , which can be a great resource for your student with dyslexia too. If you are looking for additional sibling resources, don’t hesitate to reach out to our Director of Enrollment, Laura Mombello.

I am an educator/administrator, can Horizon Academy do a Learning Disability Simulation with my team?
